You’re very welcome! Don’t forget you can support me by shopping – for anything! – at the partner stores page of dslrtips . com and cameralabs . com!
definately looking through your videos before the final in my photography class
Thankyou so much. This was so much help, I’ve been sick all week and havent been able to attend my photography classes at all. This has helped me a load in keeping up with the class as they move on.
My goal here is for people to take correctly exposed pictures and to have their cameras ready for action should an opportunity arise. I know too many people who leave their cameras in manual, then miss an opportunity as a consequence – that’s why I always advise reverting to an auto mode just in case.
Program mode… You should tell people to use Manual, you get to understand so much more about your camera and leanr what everything does
perfect.!. i love how you easily deliver the subject.
That does indeed sound a lot better. Thanks for the good input.
If I where you, Cowboy up to the 50D, It has twice the amount of fps 6.3 vs 3.4 and the shutter speed is 1/8000 vs 1/4000
very important for action. I had the T1i for three weeks returned it to Walmart and bought the 50D. The Kit lens is also better 28-135mm vs 18-55mm
Yes it should…
I dont have a dslr but a superzoom canon sx20is. Will these techniques work on this type of camera.
thanks for d tips.
Thanks I can’t wait to try this! I just got my first DSLR the Sony A550 and it’s features are awesome! Have seen shots like this and wondered how they were done, thanks cameralabs
Yes
Can you confirm this. If I use this technique, should I turn Vibration Reduction OFF?
It depends on the magnification of the lens, the distance to the subject and the speed at which you pan the camera! You simply have to experiment with different shutter speeds until you get the desired effect – there’s no fixed setting which will work for all situations.
In the video, you initially turned the shutter speed to 1/60. At the end, it was at 1/4. Do you really use that slow of a shutter speed (1/4) to take these photos? Or was that just a different cut of video? I’m a beginner. Sorry if this is a dumb question.
thanks man, really helps,
Me too, I can feel the excitement of anticipation. I can’t wait. I’m getting the Canon EOS 500D T1i, since i’m going to be new in the photography scene.
I’m getting all excited here to buy a camera!
thanks a lot!
yes, it’s the slow shutter speed which allows the background to blur
If you follow the subject do you still have to use such a slow shutter speed??
nice…thanks again GORDON
i LOVE YOUR ACCENT. haha it’s like a music to my ears : )
yea i think he made it easy then it reli is.
i been practise this for a while now.
in the beginning isn’t that easy.. u have to practise follow the object
Use auto focus & set the AF mode to AI Servo in order for it to maintain focus as the subject moves
