Special thanks goes to one of my favourite youtubers, the man, the legend, the cattle intimidator, Desertphile, for lending me his “Creationist Training Tool” (it’s a thing of great beauty). www.youtube.com C’mon, you’ve already defeated countless god (Zeus, Odin, Ra, etc). One last push and you can think your own thoughts and dream your own dreams. Or live your life in fear and confusion, guilt and shame. It’s your call.

Wonderful addition to our community building voices!!! Though, explaining our rational arguments to supernaturalists using the diction of science will be a challenge just as great as reasoning with the theist.
watch it or i’ll bust my ectoplasm all over u.
@CamronJLB You’re super funny too. NOT.
“The battlefield is mind…”
This sentence has impressed me the mostly…
That’s TRUE !
@warren52nz
The only thing we can trust is our senses, one’s nervous system is all you have to go on…… on the other hand knowing that we all look thru our own reality tunnels is valuable info.
@warren52nz
Not looking at the whole – dissing our deep feelings with everything. Without “knowing’ our connection with nature we won’t last very long. Our civilization doesn’t even acknowledge how importance of other life and our being just a part of the larger whole
@warren52nz
nah it’s deeper than that. If we didn’t have religion Humans would still find a reason to hate and kill one another, or it’s pre-reason. Our so called scientific view is just to blame for the sad state we’re in. That has distanced us from our connection to nature. The mechanistic view that everything fo value starts with intelligence (all looked at using human intelligence as the benchmark) so stupid people are less then apes then crocodiles then plants then, on and on.. cont
actually i’m a ghost and I weigh 172 lbs… and I can type.
@jesusisbling Also, I think it’s a waste of time to argue that we can’t trust our senses (if that’s what you were implying). Such skepticism leads nowhere if you ask me. I trust mine because they produce predictable, repeatable results.
And I guess you could argue that since your whole reality comes in through your senses, what’s the difference if it’s actually “The Matrix” ? I’m still enjoying it. Cheers….
@jesusisbling Yeah I know but I still think you’re selling Science short. We’ve come a loooong way from the caves. And remember, we double our knowledge every 4 to 8 years so it’s a logrhythmic process, an explosion of sorts.
All we need to do is make sure we don’t annhilate ourselves with the military hardware before our social qualities evolve to the point where we don’t want to kill each other.
And my real point is that religion is the biggest threat in history to global harmony.
Another great video, Phil. And what a terrific closing statement!: “…unless, of course, they’re afraid that the ring *is* empty.”
Outstanding stuff. Keep up the good work.
@warren52nz
When did I say “we” know nothing about our world? Never. What I am saying is our experience of our world is filtered through our senses. Even the machinery we have built to amplify our understanding. Then the data is filtered again through our brains which alters the info more. There my be an objective reality “out there” but we can’t understand it ALL with our puny monkey brains. Everything we “know” is a model. Remember that science is a human invention just like religion.
U forgot 11th. Which is…No God!
so MC squared equals energy. is the answer to the universe then.
so were all eating stardust.?
you tell me phill what atoms make a slice of bread differ to a can of soup,or the keyboard im punching these letters into?
it doesnt matter what kind.pardon the pun.
what about a slice of bread then after all its made from atoms.
An atom of what? And in what energy state? They all have different rest masses you know. And I’m not sure you’ll find the answer in calories. Rest masses are usually given in electron volts and giga electron volts, seeing as we’re dealing with a very low mass and MC squared, as you know, equals E.
so how many calories does a atom have?
@100chemosabe You’re really selling Science short if you think we know nothing about the world. Have you looked around lately? Science has brought all of that to your table, religion has failed to deliver on ANY of its promises.
As for what Science has done for us?

Great video. Liked the bit at the end where they wouldn’t step into the ring because they don’t WANT to discover the truth. Profound.
My point is you don’t have to be a fundamentalist science freak and not being one makes you fundamentalist christian. There is much gray area between. Lets keep in mind that science is a human invention, just like religion. There may be an ultimate reality out there but, neither is going to let us see it. The other point is, we don’t know shit, really our knowledge is barely to the place where we can admit even that. So far, life is a mystery….
10 stars for this video
You are correct. You did not state that. It was only implied. That is a personal opinion on how I took it. You are correct you did not state that though. I also said that in the private message I was writing while you were posting this.
